This work aims to highlight what has been published in the scientific literature about the challenges faced and strategies used by teachers in the use of the inverted classroom in higher education in nursing. A bibliographic review of the literature was carried out through the academic google, with a qualitative character, allowing to seek elements for reflection and contribution with proposals for improving the quality of higher education with the use of the inverted classroom. Currently, educators in the field of nursing are being inserted into this new teaching methodology, such an approach has shown positive results, especially with regard to student performance. The results showed that the use of the inverted classroom has been considered favorable, however, it is necessary to train students and teachers to deal with this new methodology. It is important to note that this methodology requires a change in behavior between students and teachers, requires special skills, such as teamwork, conflict resolution and collaboration, in addition to early preparation, critical reflection and acceptance of the new.
