BRAZILIAN PUBLICATIONS ON THE SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN THE CHEMISTRY COURSE: FEMALE PARTICIPATION IN THE AREA OF EXACT SCIENCES

Abstract

This bibliographical article is part of the master's research entitled "Social Representations of university students on female participation in the Chemistry course", and aimed to identify Brazilian publications on the social representations of female students in the Chemistry course. Chemistry about the participation of women in the area of exact sciences. As a hypothesis, even in view of the advances and participation of women in science, there are many questions that still need to be asked to answer the place that women occupy in the above course. To this end, the research is based on the theory of Social Representations and, with the intention of systematically seeking what researchers have already produced regarding the topic in question, two platforms were selected, namely: the Brazilian Publication Portal and scientific data in Open Access – OASISBR and the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel - CAPES. Considering the readings carried out and data analysis, 71 productions were found, with a time frame from 2012 to 2022. It is noteworthy that, for this article, three productions were selected to weave the debate, as they were the only ones that addressed the course of Chemistry. The results indicate that, even in the face of advances, it is necessary to research the theme to place women in different spaces and understand their place as a Woman and their representation as such in society.
