BUILDING METHODOLOGICAL PATHWAYS: THE QUALITATIVE APPROACH

The objective of the article is to present the methodological paths followed when conducting this research with young high school students in the city of Lagoa Real/Bahia in 2019. We understand that the methodological approach and investigative choices are characterized as the backbone of a research, and, in our case, some decisions were taken a priori in consonance with the research object. Throughout the investigation, we intended to attribute a social meaning to historical knowledge, by focusing on the present and on the ways of thinking of today's subjects, we understand that the research developed was of a sociological nature, of the case study type. In the construction of this text, we used methods that contributed to the dialogue and alignment of this proposal, which was supported by the qualitative approach as a theoretical-methodological matrix and content analysis as a technique for the treatment and reading of data collected in the empirical field through a semi-structured questionnaire applied to the subjects.
