COUNTER SCHEDULE: THE INTERCEPT BRAZIL'S COVERAGE AS RESISTANCE TO THE SILENT AND SENT COVERAGE OF BRAZILIAN MEDIA
Keywords:
Journalism, Counter-scheduling, Operation Vaza-Jato, Resistance, Content analysis.Abstract
Informing with quality is a key function of journalism based on an tacit agreement between citizens and the press. What is the role of The Intercept Brasil (TIB) in counter-scheduling of information about the Lava-Jato operation in the face of journalistic coverage by the mainstream Brazilian media? Content Analysis was used to analyze journalistic content broadcast during a month of coverage of the case by TIB. We identified that, while the Brazilian media silenced the subject, the TIB gave visibility and importance to the theme. However, the coverage of the TIB was guided by the mainstream media as a result of illegal leaks from dialogues that could have been tampered with.Downloads
