URBAN TRAFFIC IN CAETITÉ-BA: DYNAMICS AND FINDINGS ON AVENIDA WOQUINTON FERNANDES TEIXEIRA

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Brazilian traffic is the fourth most violent in the American continent. With significant numbers of accidents and citizens involved, debates and awareness are needed. Traffic that does not have adequate signs impairs communication between drivers and roads, in addition to making it difficult to protect and prevent possible accidents. Based on this situation, there was a need to understand the dynamics of traffic in the city of Caetité, from the verification of signaling and road safety. This research is based on bibliographical references such as Ferraz et al (2012) about signaling, as well as documental references mainly the Brazilian Traffic Code, National Department of Traffic and the Organic Law of County. The analysis of the city of Caetité, based on field research and a questionnaire launched for pedestrians and drivers, allows us to point out that the city has flaws in terms of traffic signs and mobility. the safety of drivers and pedestrians.
