Abstract

This work aims to expose part of the trajectory of one of the authors in relation to geographic science. First, as a geography student at the 1st and 2nd grade school in a public school, going through initial education (graduation in Geography) at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) and, later, as a teacher in the field of teaching geography, also at the Federal University of Uberlândia. The experiences are, of course, different depending on the condition of each moment, that is, student, graduating and teacher, even when dealing with the same field. Next, we present the experience of the second author, in the field of physics, with a view to discussing similar conditions between the two areas with regard to the impositions of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), that is, it seems that we are in the same boat. In the case of physics, the author works in basic education and experiences a loss of space in the curriculum in his daily life and, consequently, is also on the same tightrope as geography. But why this happen?
