THE CURRICULUM IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION: PARADIGMATIC, POLITICAL AND LEGISLATIVE CHANGES

The curriculum thematic in initial training of teachers requires incessant debates, since this curriculum implies the construct of education professionals who, over the last few decades, diffuses a heated discussion about professionalization. Thus, political and legislative changes are necessary for fulfill this new agenda in teacher training. This study on the curriculum aims to demonstrate some analyses regarding the new social and professional demands addressed to Physical Education in the Brazilian context, once recognized the importance of grant to the graduating a broad education, aimed at building a professional capable of “reading and understanding” the world around you. In this sense, the present article is structured with the following topics: The influence of the curriculum in the constitution of identity of the physical education teacher in the initial training, which explains about the initial training and the implications of the curriculum in the construction of the identity of the physical education teacher, as well as presents a summary of the organizational models and a brief contextualization of the laws that regulating training courses; and, finally, Paths and deviations towards the construction of a new guideline for physical education in higher education, which deals with the implication of politics in the construction of the curriculum in this field, portraying the marked changes in the training of teachers in the area of Physical Education in Brazil.
