The construction of hydroelectric plants along the São Francisco River occurred due to its flow and extension, based on the principle of abundant national hydrography. Brazil adopted the technology of hydroelectric plants from the developmental perspective of the military government at the time, affecting a large portion of the population that lived around the submerged waters, dispossessing thousands of people. The realization of works with this dimension, such as the one in Sobradinho-BA, caused several social and environmental problems for the entire region. This study aims to analyze the socio-environmental and cultural impacts caused by the construction of the dam and discuss whether there was the implementation of public policies to repair the resettled in Sobradinho. Therefore, an Integrative Review was carried out, using works found on academic websites that had as a keyword: construction of dams, public policies and the Sobradinho dam. After reading them, the materials that best responded to the proposed objective were screened. When analyzing these articles, several socio-environmental and cultural impacts on riverside communities were identified and that a large part of them is mainly due to the lack of assistance in the resettlement process and lack of implementation of Public Repair Policies that could alleviate the inconvenience caused by the construction of the lake.
