Abstract

Since the end of the last century, the world of academic communication has not stopped evolving. The emergence of the digital age has brought about remarkable changes that have disrupted the statism inherent in the traditional process of diffusion of science, which had remained practically unchanged for centuries. In this context, scientific journals emerge as the formal means to disseminate, organize and evaluate contemporary science, since in addition to publicizing the latest scientific discoveries and validating their relevance, pertinence and avant-garde, they also stimulate interaction among academic communities. In this article we expose the challenges posed by those who produce magazines for the dissemination of science. We expose the particular case of the Cuban magazine of Higher Education, of the University of Havana, Cuba.
