The Revista Baiana de Educação Matemática is an open-access journal that adheres to the principle that providing free access to scientific knowledge enhances the democratization of science on a global scale. Following the guidelines of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), its content is offered to the academic and professional community without any fees.

The editorial policy of RBEM, as well as the articles published in the journal, are guided by the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable). These principles aim to promote the dissemination and communication of scientific knowledge produced by researchers, ensuring greater accessibility and the expansion of knowledge, while guaranteeing society’s right to free, public, and unrestricted access to editorial content. The FAIR principles are an initiative of the Force11 community, focused on advancing research and knowledge.

RBEM's content is fully available for free, with no cost to the user or their institution. Readers are allowed to access, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or reference the full texts of the articles, and use them for any legal purposes without needing prior permission from the editors or authors.
