The globalization process driven by scientific and technological advances and the large-scale action of powerful transnational companies mean that every day new or improved products and processes appear on the market that replace the existing ones. Technological changes occur at an impressive speed; The assimilation of a technology has not been completed and another one already exists to replace it, at least at the prototype level. This situation has led to the view that, in a changing competitive context, such as the one that currently exists, knowledge and innovation are essential factors for survival and development. In order to analyze the current state of the innovation management process in the "Mil Cumbres" Flora and Fauna Organization, a study was carried out using analysis and synthesis, inductive-deductive and historical-logical scientific methods; and empirical such as documentary analysis, the survey and Vester's matrix. Among the main results, the lack of an innovative culture was identified as a critical problem, which affects the optimal performance of the innovation management process. It is also known that the causes and consequences that affect the innovation capacity are associated with the lack of training of workers in the subject, not having an adequate structure for the management of the innovation process and the lack of procedures, policies, objectives and indicators, which shows that the organization under study has a moderate innovative capacity.
