This research addresses a topic that evokes the current debate on the future of animation, which is concerned with the balance between new technologies - artificial intelligence (AI), and the valorization of traditional techniques in the history of animation. It can be seen that AI introduces relatively significant changes in the way animations are created, allowing a certain automation of tasks, speeding up animated processes. Despite this, there is concern about the preservation of traditional techniques. Conventional techniques often carry a unique identity, reflecting the personal vision of the artist or filmmaker, and these manual methods are seen as irreplaceable in their ability to convey emotions and subjectivity. Finally, it is understood that the relationship between AI and classical techniques in animation need not be a confrontation, since many productions already adopt this hybrid approach, complementing manual work without replacing it. As such, AI can be a powerful tool for expanding artists' creativity, relieving often repetitive aspects of production so that artists can focus more on the artistic and subjective.
