Epistle, second Rubião Bovary, to the survivors: a psychosocial study on the blackgay

Abstract

This article portrays a possible conversation between two black gay men, both survivors of a society marked by all kinds of handicaps to otherness. This text is a consequence of the long time in which the first author was poring over the thesis, guided by the second author, based on the life story of a black gay man: Rubião Bovary. Due to the intense and immersive collaboration during these years between advisee/supervisor, we are proposing a study in which, although written in the first person by the main author, it is signed by two people. In these terms, the epistle aims to resume the most important points of the study, the findings and arguments that deserved to be (re)visited on the pretext of a conversation between “intimates” without ties of coexistence, but, somehow, intrinsic. For this, it was necessary to use the (Auto)Biographical methodology, allowing the secreting of a private confidence, published in 'loud and clear' by those who no longer conform to living in the stuffy space of that infamous "closet". This article, therefore, proposes an education that makes it possible to talk about ourselves, from us and with us, in order to re-do our daily lives.
