O Impacto da Barragem de Itaparica entre os índios Tuxá de Rodelas
Abstract
Esse artigo analisa o impacto causado no povo indígena Tuxá de Rodelas pela formação do Lago de Itaparica devido a construção das Hidroelétricas de Paulo Afonso e de Itaparica. O povo indígena Tuxá de Rodelas se localiza no município homõnimo, ao norte do estado da Bahia, nas margens do rio São Francisco, limítrofe com o Estado de Pernambuco. O reassentamento realizado pela Companhia Hidroelétrica do São Francisco CHESF sem discussão e sem a participação dessa população indígena, acarretou fortes e profundos impactos na vida social, cultural, econõmica e política dos Tuxá. O trabalho visa analisar o processo de negociação e as conseqüências desse reassentamento.
