The work “The ecologies of the Semiarid on the screen of Brazilian public TV” analyzed the newscast production of TV Caatinga, webtv of the Federal University of Vale do São Francisco, shown in the programming of TV Brasil, a national public broadcaster based in Brasília. In the period analyzed, from July 2014 to December 2020, reports from the environment editorship predominated in the choices made by editors to be shown in their TV news and programs. The environmental issue related to other editorials, such as ecotourism, was also present in the selected articles. The contents that exhibited the ecologies of the semi-arid made associations with sub-themes such as sustainable extractivism and coexistence with these territories. These are productions that not only guide the climate as something natural, but also give visibility to the technologies of human experience in the semi-arid in an eco-sustainable way, considering that each region must develop based on the valorization of its capacities and local and territorial specificities. Such contents elaborated by TV Caatinga follow the proposal of Journalism Contextualized with the Brazilian Semiarid Region, which exercises a broader educational look closer to the reality, without stereotypes and distortions, considering all the specificities of these territories. To evaluate and compare the content broadcast on the network station with the original version sent, the analysis of audiovisual materiality and contrastive ethno-research were used as methods. The objective was to investigate whether the exhibited material preserved or not the proposal contextualized with the semi-arid territories of the university TV version. As a main result, it was observed that of the 18 articles aired on national television that discussed the environment, two were partially distorted by TV Brasil and 16 (88.88%) reproduced the original approach proposal, promoting a representation closer to reality of these territories, with regard also to their ecologies.
