Funeral rites are ceremonies that exist in different cultures and at different times, burying the dead is a characteristic of the humanization process. The research article "Orality and the perpetuation of funeral rites: the excellences of the deceased" aims to identify how people who pray linked to Catholicism direct funeral rites in the District of Rajada, in the interior of the municipality of Petrolina, identifying if there is systematization and presence of the song of excellence. Data and information were acquired through semi-structured interviews and interviews/narratives according to the Oral History technique. The research revealed the existence of 14 4 excellences in this region.Downloads
