Focus and Scope

Mission of the periodical:

Ouricuri Magazine, a vehicle for scientific and cultural dissemination, has the mission of “publishing original and unpublished scientific works that contribute to the development of research and critical thinking in different areas of knowledge, therefore having a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary character”.

Editorial policy:

The Ouricuri Magazine is run by the Postgraduate Program in Human Ecology and Socio-Environmental Management at the State University of Bahia – PPGEcoH UNEB. It has significant participation of stricto sensu Programs in the Academic research modality, bringing together scholars from different areas of knowledge, with the aim of promoting the diffusion and dissemination of knowledge.

Organized into articles that bring research results or bibliographical reviews, texts are published every six months that discuss different contents, with the participation of Brazilian and foreign authors. The submission of texts is continuous and seeks to encourage the socialization of research experiences across the country. Among the authors, at least one of them must have the title of Master or Doctor.

This magazine offers immediate free access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides greater global democratization of knowledge.

Singularity

Revista Ouricuri is the journal of the Postgraduate Program in Human Ecology and Socio-Environmental Management, the only program in Brazil at Stricto sensu level, in the interdisciplinary area, and aims to publish the productions of Postgraduate programs and researchers who work with the traditional peoples and communities of Brazil, opening a space where these people have visibility, generating academic instruments to support public policies.

Peer Review Process

Ouricuri Magazine has external evaluators, outside its Editorial Team, carrying out peer and blind evaluation.

Frequency

Its periodicity is biannual, publishing original articles, aiming to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge generated in the areas of natural sciences, human ecology and education, human ecology and health, socio-environmental management and sustainable development.

Open Access Policy

This magazine offers immediate free access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public provides greater global democratization of knowledge.

Sources of Support

Ouricuri Magazine receives institutional support from the Periodical Publication Support Program linked to the Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Programs at UNEB (PROEP-PÓS), upon approval via PROEP-PÓS Notice No. 032/2019.

Repository Policy

The RO is indexed in the Directory of Editorial Policies of Brazilian Scientific Journals (Diadorim), which has an open access repository available and allows storage in the "Blue" standard, post-print version of the document by the author .

Journal history

The Ouricuri Magazine is a multidisciplinary periodical edited by the Postgraduate Program in Human Ecology and Socio-Environmental Management (PPGEcoH) of the University of Bahia - UNEB.

Its periodicity is biannual, publishing original articles, aiming to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge generated in the areas of natural sciences, human ecology and education, human ecology and health, socio-environmental management and sustainable development.

The journal accepts articles, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, as long as they are unpublished in the form of basic and applied research, reviews and brief communications. The period for submitting articles is continuous according to the submission rules.

The journal is currently in the Databases of Latindex,  Genamics JournalSeek, Sumários de Revistas Brasileiras (sumarios.org), as well as on the portal of Periódicos Capes, Diadorim - Directory of Open Access Policies of Brazilian Scientific Journals and LivRe! .
