Abstract

The objective is to understand how the division between the sexes is present in an objectified state and in an incorporated state, in the bodies and habitus of agents, acting as representations of formal female education. It is proposed to carry out possible approaches to the object in two ways: Historical, represented by Roger Chartier, and sociological, represented by Pierre Bourdieu. Content Analysis is used as a research technique. The results point out that when discussing the representation of women, we find the dominant representation of the male figure, established as a productive character of power relations. These representations are not mere descriptions, they constitute and construct realities as they influence agents. Thus, the relationship of domination between men and women, is established in all spaces, not only in the family, but also in the school universe, and gives visuality to the permanence of the structure of the relationship of domination between men and women
