Artistic manifestations are tools for the construction and apprehension of reality for research in Social Sciences and Humanities, therefore the arts not only portray but also modifies/transforms reality. In view of this scenario, the following text had as its starting point the following research problem: How the poet Jarid Arraes mobilizes through the literature of cordel a black feminist activism? It will seek to understand in this way how Arraes mobilizes literature of cordel to give visibility to his activism. In relation to the method, content analysis (CA) was chosen through the instruments for generating and analyzing the representations from the construction of categories and codes. Therefore, the results were reached, which indicate an intimate relationship between the cordel and the art produced by this author with some nuances about what was traditionally called popular writing.
