PENSE FORA DO LIXO – Um projeto de Robótica Educacional com Sucata

This text is an experience report that aimed to describe and analyze the "Think Outside Garbage" Project as a proposal to develop Educational Robotics with Scrap at school using unstructured materials and electronic waste, with students from the 6th and 7th grades of elementary school. The objective of the project was to develop skills and competencies related to the three pillars of robotics: computing, electrical/electronics, and mechanics, as well as knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with an emphasis on SDGs 11 and 12, respectively, Sustainable Cities and Communities and Responsible Consumption and Production. The applied methodology involved stages of e-waste collection, dismantling, component recognition, and prototype construction, using a project-based learning approach. The results demonstrated an increase in ecological awareness among students, significant improvements in engineering skills and collaboration, as well as greater integration of the school community in recycling practices. In this sense, we consider the project to have the potential to promote the inclusion and integration of Low-Cost Educational Robotics in schools.
