Bilingual-english in Graduate Programs in education in Brazil and Colombia

Bilingual education has become an emerging phenomenon in globalized society and in the field of Brazilian education. This article aims to identify and analyze the studies on bilingual-english education in Brazil and Colombia found in the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) and in repositories of Colombian Higher Education Institutions. Of bibliographic character, the literature review analyzed, qualitatively, the academic production, in a timeless way in Brazil and Colombia. From a total of 167 dissertations and 63 theses, two studies were identified that dealt with teaching and learning in English as a second language in the Early Years of Elementary Education. The results indicate that there are few studies in the field of education, highlighting that bilingual education is an emerging demand in the field of research in the PPGs of Education to make contributions to Basic Education schools in Brazil and Colombia.
