A literatura indígena dos Maraguá: da produção à publicação

Abstract

This paper presents considerations about the literary production of the Maraguá. This ethnic group is currently configured as the largest producer of indigenous literature in the state of Amazonas, with five active writers. Our considerations cover the production process of these narratives, which come from orality and ancestral knowledge, and the publication of these works. Our study also presents a mapping of the works published by this ethnic group and discussions about the incentives and challenges faced, ranging from the non-recognition of this literature by the literary field, to issues concerning the historical and social situation of these writers. The theoretical reference was constituted, above all, by the conceptions of Almeida and Queiroz (2004), Thiél (2012), Souza (2006) and other scholars who understand this literature as a fertile space to think about the issues of representativity in contemporary times.
