DA EXPERIMENTAÇÃO À APRENDIZAGEM DO CONCEITO DE POLÍGONOS REGULARES
Abstract
The present work proposes the experimentation of the Geometric Challenge as a facilitator of the learning of the concepts of regular polygons, in a class of the 9th grade of the fundamental teaching of a public school. It presents the objective of applying a teaching methodology for the concepts of regular polygons through the paving of the plane from the experimentation of the Geometric Challenge, associating the historical context to the construction of tiling using regular polygons. The present research awakens the investigation in the students, because the process occurred through experimentation. In this sense, the students participated in a workshop or class structured for the theme and answered questionnaires. The activity was divided into stages and, as it was adapted for classes in the final years of elementary school, in a class prior to the Geometric Challenge, the Chinese Tangram game was worked on, with historical context about the game, carried out online to explore the elements of polygons regulars and their concepts, after which some provocative questions were asked about the content. Afterwards, a historical contextualization of tiling was carried out and then the Geometric Challenge with the active participation of the students. The results indicated that the applied methodology promoted a greater learning and interest of students in Geometry, however in the observations difficulties were identified in learning mathematics, which can be overcome by students with the activities proposed in the challenge and use of Tangram, in addition to promoting development artistic, group work, involving participants in the search for knowledge in an active way.
