Methodology for the insertion of agroturism to the cooperative sector in the tobacco massif of San Juan y Martínez

Abstract

In today's Cuba, it is necessary, more than ever, to stimulate the diversification of activities that benefit the economic sector, and one way to do it is by identifying and exploiting existing potentialities in the localities. The tourist activity is not exempt from this possibility, this has led to the development of tourist modalities, among which agrotourism is promoted in the cooperative sector, taking advantage of the cultural, natural and historical resources that exist. The objective of designing a methodology to integrate the agrotourism modality into the cooperative sector in the San Juan y Martínez tobacco massif, allows optimizing and taking advantage of resources, stimulating productive chains and diversifying economic activities in areas with a predominance of agriculture. A theoretical sequence is presented that establishes the bases for the incorporation of the agrotourism modality in tobacco cooperatives, for which different methods such as logical history and analysis and synthesis were used, in addition to the determination of different tools such as surveys, interviews and the use of of expert methods such as brainstorming and Delphi, which made it possible to obtain and analyze results in the investigation. Evidencing potentialities in the cooperative sector of the tobacco massif that argue the feasibility of modifying the present economic dynamics with the incorporation of the agrotourism activity, which allows concluding the investigation with the design of the methodological proposal in the tobacco plain "Quemado del Rubí" belonging to the CCS "5th Congress" of the municipality of San Juan y Martínez.
