Abstract

This article analyses the Secondary Distance Education Programme (ESDP), reflecting on the real situation of equipment and resources in the Learning Support Centres, in the light of the ESDP implementation manual. In terms of nature, the research is qualitative, and in order to achieve the objectives we favoured the use of a bibliographical review and fieldwork as a method of procedure. Structured interviews and direct observation were also used as data collection tools and techniques, respectively. The results showed that there was a lack of infrastructure in the schools for the CAA to operate; and of material, teaching and human resources in the Learning Support Centres surveyed. At the end of this study, it is suggested that research be carried out focusing on evaluating the efficiency of the ESDP, creating and making available the resources needed to set up the CAA and continuing training for tutors and managers.
