RELATOS DE EXPERIÊNCIA DE MULHERES VÍTIMAS DE VIOLÊNCIA DOMÉSTICA
UMA REVISÃO DE ESTUDOS PUBLICADOS NO ESTADO DA BAHIA
Abstract
This article aimed to systematize the experience reports of women victims of domestic violence in the state of Bahia in studies published between the years 2002 and 2022, to analyze women’s perceptions of the dynamics and repercussions of domestic violence. The research approach was narrative literature review, and the collection of data was carried out through bibliography research in the following databases: ScieELO/PePSIC and BVS/Lilacs. It was found that the women had singular perspectives about the situations experienced in the abusive relationship and these were described as guilt, distress, fear, humiliation and shame in relation to themselves and the relationship. Regarding intimate relationships, it was noticed that the way women are socialized favors their permanence in violent relationships which can result in negative implications like the development of mental disorders or psychological suffering, namely: anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, lowered self-esteem, increased risk of suicide, as well as physical symptoms or illnesses: fatigue, headaches, sleep disorders or eating disorders. In conclusion, domestic violence is an urgent issue and must be combated jointly by society and the institutions that protect and care for these women, since this study has shown that the people who provide health and protection services are not sufficiently prepared to receive women who are victims of violence.
