Abstract

Teacher malaise is related to a series of factors such as: policies of teacher accountability for school failure; privatization policies in education; low wages; poor working conditions; little involvement of families in the partnership with the school in the process of educating children and adolescents; weakening of teaching collectives, among others. This article aims to reflect on the causes of teacher malaise and identify the possible connections between continuing education and university toy libraries for the reception and strengthening of teacher professionalization in this context. It starts with an understanding of continuing education as a powerful space for the creation of a teaching repertoire to resignify the malaise through the strengthening of professionalization, as teachers identify the real needs of their community, school, classrooms and their role in this scenario, making use of spaces for continuing education for the confrontations, the establishment of dialogue and the permanent cultivation of decisions and collegiate actions. The university toy library, in turn, is considered a laboratory for pedagogical applications, which can be used by different audiences, due to its interdisciplinary and transversal character, rich in stimulation. In the toy library, the therapeutic toy is structured in a way that allows the player to relieve the anxiety generated by experiences that cause emotional discomfort, which are often threatening and which require more than recreation. The research methodology was based on a qualitative approach through bibliographic research, and data was collected from materials already published, consisting mainly of books and periodicals. The results suggest that the toy library is an articulating axis between the reflections on teacher malaise and continuing education, as it is a space where teachers can express, through different playful languages, the tensions and malaises generated by the profession; and they can, above all, give new meaning to them.
