MÉTODO PILATES NOS DISTÚRBIOS MUSCULOESQUELÉTICOS E PSICOSSOMÁTICOS EM INDIVÍDUOS COM CÂNCER DE MAMA: REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA E METANÁLISE DE ENSAIOS CLÍNICOS RANDOMIZADOS

Resumo

Introdução: O câncer de mama é um dos tipos mais comuns e seu tratamento convencional pode causar complicações musculoesqueléticas e psicossomáticas importantes. O Método Pilates mostra-se como uma estratégia capaz de atenuar os sintomas adversos de saúde e produzir benefícios sobre estes aspectos nesta população. Objetivo: Revisar sistematicamente os efeitos do Método Pilates sobre os distúrbios musculoesqueléticos e psicossomáticos em indivíduos com câncer de mama. Método: Revisão sistemática e metanálise de ensaios clínicos randomizados realizada nas bases de dados Embase, Scopus, LILACS, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Medline, PEDro e SciELO, utilizando os descritores “Breast Neoplasms” e “Pilates Method”. Dos 202 artigos encontrados, 10 foram incluídos neste estudo e seis analisados na metanálise para os desfechos dor, linfedema do membro acometido, amplitude de movimento do ombro acometido, força de preensão manual, funcionalidade e sintomas de ansiedade. A qualidade metodológica dos estudos foi analisada pela Escala PEDro e a metanálise realizada pelo software Review Manager versão 5.4 (Colaboração Cochrane). Resultados: O grupo Método Pilates apresentou superioridade sobre o grupo controle ou intervenção mínima no linfedema do membro acometido, nos movimentos de flexão, rotação externa e amplitude total do ombro acometido e nos sintomas de ansiedade (p≤0,05). Essa diferença não foi observada na dor, na força de preensão manual e na funcionalidade (p>0,05). Conclusão: O Método Pilates produz melhores efeitos sobre o linfedema do membro acometido, a amplitude de movimento do ombro acometido e os sintomas de ansiedade em comparação ao controle ou intervenção mínima em indivíduos com câncer de mama.
