Abstract

In terms of geopolitical interests, Western Europe considered itself the heir of classical philosophy and the expansion of written knowledge that led to technical and scientific progress. In the bourgeois era, European culture became self-certified as the universal way of producing, consuming and thinking, instituting its ideology in all continents where labor force or market consumers were sought. The assumptions of Bantu philosophy, such as that of Ubuntu, demonstrate the commitment of African intellectual production to community life and social well-being, enabling the ethics of dialogue as a means of establishing justice.
