Abstract

Sub-Saharan Africa in Early Modernity is discussed, particularly that part of the continent particularly that part of the continent that was connected by the Portuguese to the Atlantic system, which boosted the trade of captives and and its insertion in the nascent European capitalism. The region of Angola reported to the Viceroy of Brazil, that is, the governor of the of the captaincy of Bahia.
