Abstract

The present article aims to analyze the context and the process of the armed struggle for the liberation of Mozambique against the portuguese colonialism as more than 50 years after its outbreak, there are still some data to be explored and some truths to be confronted between the different information made available to the public. Specially from the general Mozambican context, this analysis focuses on the front of Niassa Province where the military actions that began the liberation struggle on September 25, 1964 were also launched. The work is the result of research, whose subjects integrate elements that were part of the first group of soldiers who launched the combat in Niassa Province and the consultation of the limited bibliography on the matter.
