prevenindo o câncer de colo de útero em mulheres marisqueiras

Abstract

This article aims to present the implementation of an interdisciplinary project on cervical cancer. Methodology: The project involved a team of health and education professionals and representatives of civil society in an extractive reserve in the south of Bahia. It consisted of educational workshops on prevention, contagion and treatment of cervical cancer that took place during the second half of 2019 with the participation of 200 women. Final considerations: there was an active participation of women in the workshops and health and education professionals were able to succeed in interdisciplinary approaches to uterine cancer. There was also an increase of more than 50% in the demand for preventive exams in the municipality in the period.
