A IMPORTÂNCIA DA CAPACITAÇÃO DOCENTE ATRAVÉS DO USO DE FERRAMENTAS TECNOLÓGICAS GRATUITAS: ESTUDO DE CASO APLICADO NO IFBA CAMPUS BRUMADO
Abstract
In 2020, 47.3 million enrollments were registered in the 179.5 thousand basic education schools in Brazil, about 579 thousand fewer enrollments compared to the year 2019, which corresponds to a reduction of 1.2 % in total, even to the detriment of the growth in the total number of enrollments in the last three years. It is worth mentioning that, in relation to the last year, despite the number of enrollments having increased by 1.1%, influenced by the increase of 65.5 thousand enrollments (10.5%) in professional education integrated with high school, this increase had reduced impact due to the drop of 26.3 thousand enrollments (2.7%) in subsequent technical training and 15.9 thousand enrollments (6.3%) in professional education concomitant with secondary education. When assessing the distribution of enrollments by administrative dependency, there is a greater dominance of the municipal network, which holds 48.4% of enrollments in basic education, 0.3 percentage point (pp) more than in 2019. The state network, responsible for 32.1% of basic education enrollments in 2020, is the second largest. The private network obtains 18.6% and the federal has a share of less than 1% of the total enrollments (INEP, 2020). Considering the teaching activity, 2,189,005 teachers were registered in Brazilian basic education. Most of them work in elementary education (63%), and from 2016 to 2020, the number of teachers working in early childhood education grew by 9.7% while that of those working in high school decreased by 2.7%. These numbers denote the importance of teacher training and qualification in order to meet student demand by providing quality teaching. In adverse times of pandemic and crisis in the Brazilian education sector, the alternative for solutions that enable a better adaptation and communication to the current teaching conditions becomes essential, and the use of technological and free tools contribute a lot in this opportunity. This work emphasizes and seeks to present the results obtained in the use of the free Google Suite tool for education, through a case study carried out at the IFBA- Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Bahia, Campus Brumado, which involved a project of Extension for the training and qualification of teachers in the municipal network of Brumado, with the participation of students from the institution, and through a course also open to the community. The results obtained in this project demonstrated not only the low cost viability of the possibility of teacher training, but also the ease of its implementation, allowing for growth in the professional training of teachers and the interaction between the Federal education institution and society.
