THE CHALLENGES FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF THE NATIONAL POLICY FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH OF THE BLACK POPULATION IN SÃO CRISTÓVÃO (SE)

Abstract

Objective: Delineate ways for the implementation of the National Policy for the Comprehensive Health of the Black Population in the municipality of São Cristóvão, SE, 2022; Foster the development of actions and studies focused on the Health of the Black Population. Methods: This is a qualitative experience report. A reference team was formed between the Municipal Health Department (MHD) of the municipality and members of the Federal University of Sergipe, which promoted data collection with the race-color issue, an awareness meeting with MHD managers and coordinators and carrying out activities with the community, aimed at black mothers. In addition, more activities will be carried out during the year. Results: Regarding the collected data, negligence was observed regarding the collection of the race-color item, however, they were passed on for better analysis and interpretation. The meeting with the managers raised their awareness in a positive way and gave support to the project. Finally, the action with the black mothers improved the project's recognition in the community and allowed the social profile of the women present to be known. Conclusion: The reported experience has an important social role in the context in which it is inserted and can serve as a mirror for students, researchers and even health managers to promote a health system with more equity and quality for the entire population, especially for the black population.
