FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH THE LEVEL OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IN COMMUNITY HEALTH AGENTS: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW
Keywords:
Community Health Agent, Physical Activity, Obesity, Family Health StrategyAbstract
Objective: The study seeks to investigate, through a literature review, the prevalence and factors associated with the level of physical activity of community health workers. Methods: This is an integrative literature review carried out with five studies found in the PubMed, SciELO and BVS databases. The descriptors were used: community health workers, physical activity, health care workers, and sedentary lifestyle, which are combined with the Boolean operators "AND" and “OR”. The survey was carried out between July and November 2021, resulting in a final sample of 5 articles. Results: It was observed that the rates of physical activity practices among this category of workers are still low (ranging from 18.5% to 64.9%), and that there are some associated factors, such as gender, prevalence of obesity and/ or overweight, eating habits and marital status, which can interfere with the pattern of physical activity. Conclusion: The low percentages of physical activity practices among agents reveal the need for greater attention on the subject, as well as the development of intervention strategies that provide a better quality of life for this population.
