Objective: To describe the epidemiological profile of deaths from transport accidents in the state of Bahia in the period from 2015 to 2019 and characterize the distribution of deaths according to age group, sex, race/color. Methods: An ecological, retrospective and descriptive study, using publicly accessible secondary data, available in the Hospital Information System of the Unified Health System (SIH/SUS), made available electronically by the Ministry of Health's health surveillance department, on the electronic portal of the SUS Informatics Department (DATASUS). Results: In the period analyzed (2015–2019) there were a total of 11,950 deaths resulting from transport accidents in Bahia. It is noted that in all years analyzed there was a predominance of men (86.5%; 84.9%; 84.2%; 84.5%; 85.6%), aged between 20-39 years (47.1%; 45%; 42.9%; 43%; 43%), and of the brown race (75.9%; 76.7%; 77.3%; 75.5%; 78.6%), respectively. Conclusion: It is noted that the epidemiological profile of deaths from transport accidents in the state of Bahia in the period from 2015 to 2019 was composed mostly of men, young adults, and accidents involving motorcyclists. It is pointed out that the brown race/color was the most predominant. It is noteworthy that other studies with multiple methods of analysis should be developed in order to know other factors linked to the topic in question.
