Resumo

A adaptação televisiva Angels in America (2003) de Mike Nichols, baseada na peça teatral Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes (1994) de Tony Kushner, recebeu vários prêmios importantes tais como o Arts Directors Guild e o Critics’ Choice Award. A valer, Nichols utilizou características estruturais da narrativa cinematográfica (BLOCK, 2000; DUARTE, 2012; SIJLL, 2019) para construir uma obra de arte que desvela diferentes formas de homofobia e violências resultantes dela (KIMMEL, 1994; HEREK, 2004; BORRILLO, 2016; HITMAN, 2016). Por conseguinte, este artigo focou em analisar como diferentes técnicas da narrativa cinematográfica auxiliaram esse diretor a representar os diferentes tipos de homofobia em Angels in America (2003).
