Abstract

The historical paths of struggle for survival and transformation of the violent cycle of silences against indigenous peoples caused by colonialization have become increasingly intense and multifaceted. The resistance fronts move through territorialization (recapture and demarcation of indigenous lands) as well as through the insertion of these peoples in different areas of confrontation. This essay invites us to reflect on how indigenous writing, in evoking the voices of diverse indigenous peoples, has been used as an artifact of resistance. Concepts such as author / authorship and writing are brought to the discussion, especially focusing on Roland Barthes, Michel Foucault and Jaques Derrida, extending the dialogue to the concepts brought by Gilles Deluze. These concepts as well as their relationship with indigenous writing-resistance will be questioned, displacing them from categories historically constituted under a dominant, westernized and patriarchal order, this essay argues around the emergence of a literary corpus proposed by indigenous writers and writers that erases canonical writing.
