Practices Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations for equity in Youth and Adult Education

Abstract

This thought gets shape with the purpose of analyzing what I consider art teaching practice for Ethnic-Racial Relations to Youth and Adult Education (EJA), based on the structuring Afro-Brazilian civilizing concepts or values ​​for a proposition of an equitable education. Examining the public, subject, principles and purposes in and for the practices which I promote in the school place, in this modality, the search for better performance and resistance strategies take place. To put myself in this school educational practices area and to remain honest and aware of what mobilizes me for / with its audience is to re-elaborate myself as a person and professional to continue strengthened and, above all, engaged. EJA, due to its predominantly black and poor public, is the least favored segment in the teaching unit. It underlines the fundamental subterfuge of the mandatory nature of a law to promote the teaching of historical and cultural references of the majority of the Brazilian population. I share the path that I followed and which I believe to be honest.

Mestra em Relações Étnico-Raciais pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em Relações Étnico-Raciais (PPRER – CEFET/RJ). Especialista em Política de Promoção da Igualdade Racial na Escola (ICHS-UFOP) e Licenciada em Artes Visuais (UFES) atua como professora no ensino básico público, colabora e coordena diversas ações de educação em espaços e projetos artístico-culturais.
