Authors

Abstract

The article presents a reflection on the photographic activism of film director and photographer Zana Briski from the documentary Born in Bordels, directed by her and Ross Kauffman - 2004. The text discusses and analyzes the activist participation of the referred photographer, seeking to understand how her participation contributes to the social life of the children with whom she lives during the development of her research. The article is the result of online research developed in the research group Ciberxirè, and brings ethnoprinting as a methodological proposal for research in education. The analysis highlights their sensitivity, participation and intervention in the daily lives of children and their contribution to the process of registering images for cinema. A discussion is proposed based on the concepts of childhood, daily life and photographic activism in a perspective of the pedagogy of the gaze.
