Research and dissemination of african scientific and technological production

Authors

Abstract

The educational field is the subject of disputes between different social actors. In this work, we defend the establishment of pedagogical actions that aim to overcome oppressive structures that operate in the Brazilian context, such as racism. This work proposes elements that can contribute to the development of fair ethnic-racial relations through pedagogical actions in Scientific and Technological Education, as provided for in Federal Law No. 10.639 / 03. Therefore, it starts from the study, debate and dissemination of some of the African contributions to Science and Technology, carried out by a research group composed of students and civil servants of the Brazilian Federal Education. Contributions were presented in the areas of medicine, chemistry, astronomy, mathematics, philosophy, among others. It is estimated that the questioning of scientific neutrality, of the unique history, and the recognition of historically silenced knowledge can contribute to the critical and decolonial citizenship of students and in the fight against social inequalities, through school education committed to social transformation.

Keywords: Ethnic-racial relations; Scientific and Technological Education; Scientific divulgation.
