Quality of education in Mozambique

An analysis based on educational indicators

Abstract

This study is about the quality of education in Mozambican educational system. It problematizes and clarifies the meaning constructed about the quality of education based on quality indicators. It is based on bibliographic research, especially on works of the specialists in the subject, covering the period from 1990 to 2018. The keywords used to search for such works were basically: “quality of education; Quality Indicators". The study is justified because, from year to year, society has complained about the quality of education in the Mozambican educational system as well as the results of national assessment (exam) that reaffirm the low performance of students, consolidating the belief that the Mozambican school does not offer quality education to the population that seeks it. Furthermore, the study seeks to collaborate with the discussion in the educational field. At the end of the readings and analysis carried out, it was possible to see that the quality of education in the Mozambican educational system will be achieved if we take into account the participation of teachers, their motivation, which includes good wages, allocation of equipment in classrooms, curriculum rich and updated.
