ABSENTEÍSMO ENTRE OS PROFISSIONAIS DE ENFERMAGEM
Abstract
This article addresses absenteeism among nursing professionals within health institutions. Its main objective is to analyze, based on literature reviews, the factors associated with absenteeism of nursing professionals in health institutions. And as specific objectives, identify the main causes of absenteeism among nursing workers and evaluate the effects of absenteeism on the quality of services provided. The research is basic in nature, exploratory in terms of its objectives, bibliographic in terms of its sources, following a qualitative approach in the analysis of the data collected. The research results indicate that the causes of absenteeism mentioned were working conditions, mental disorders, musculoskeletal diseases, behavioral disorders, work overload, leave, poor organization and leadership, professional dissatisfaction, stress, double working hours, interpersonal relationships, accidents work conditions, respiratory illnesses, health problems, financial issues and unjustified absences within the sample universe. And as for the impacts and consequences, they were quality of care, workers' health and financial losses. Making it clear that although institutions suffer financial losses, those who suffer the consequences of these impacts are the professionals and the patient. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of adapting staffing, improving working conditions, mental health assistance programs and implementing prevention policies as suggested strategies to reduce absenteeism indicators. The implementation of these actions can help reduce the impacts on workers' health and the quality of services provided to patients.
