Organization and struggles of rural workers in the municipality of Urandi/BA

Abstract

This article aims to present the memories, trajectories and struggles of the of Rural Workers, farmers and Family farming union of Urandi/BA, approaching the participation and mobilization of women, men, young and elderly people from the rural field who were part of the history of the entity and the struggles of the union movement. Such as the resistance to the mass dissolution of the unions, criminalization of the social movements, and the denial and loss of rights in our country's recent past, it is important to illuminate the processes of organization and struggles of the workers. For the development of the project were used documents of the union as research sources, such as bylaws, minutes, records of membership, photographs and interviews with the leaders of their timeline. The article full developed shows that the strength of the organized workers is a fundamental instrument in the conquest and support of the rights already conquered by the rural workers.
