Abstract

Introduction: Chronic diseases that affect the musculoskeletal condition represent one of the main problems for the health of the population, especially in the productive phase of life. Among these diseases, chronic back problems (CCP) stand out. Methodology: This is an epidemiological, census and cross-sectional study. Results and Discussion: A prevalence of 40.1% in the lumbar region, 35.7% in the dorsal region and 21.1% in the cervical region was evidenced. Related to sociodemographic variables, it was found that the disease/back pain is predominant in the lumbar region in all categories, being prevalent in women (45.8%), in individuals aged 41 to 59 years (43%), married (43 .1%) and who studied up to elementary school (43.8%). Conclusion: Due to working conditions and the legal helplessness of informal trade jobs, there is a need to invest in research, educational activities and improvements in market infrastructure.
