Abstract

Was there an impact of the pandemic on children's lives? Where did they play during the period of social isolation and closing of public spaces? In this work, we present data from the research conducted within the framework of the Scientific Initiation Program that sought to understand the impact of the pandemic on children's lives, as well as the place where they played during this period. The data were generated through a bibliographic survey and questionnaire answered by 605 families of children aged 0 to 6 years, enrolled in Early Childhood Education and living in the territories Sertão Productive or Velho Chico. The study concludes that children were impacted in the relationship with nature during the pandemic, especially in play in outdoor spaces and natural materials. This lacks a family, school, community, governmental action in order to mitigate these effects, since some possibilities for its development were more than two years "paused".
