Representation of portuguese Brazilian in the orality and musicality of capoeira Angola

Abstract

This work is the result of research developed during the curricular component Interdisciplinary Research Seminar IV, Course of Letters and Literatures in Portuguese Language, State University of Bahia, Campus IV in 2021. It is a bibliographical research of qualitative character, where we analyze the litanies of authored by Mestre Cláudio Costa from the School of Capoeira Angoleiros do Sertão in the Rural Area of Feira de Santana-Ba, with the general objective: to understand how the official Portuguese language of Brazil is represented in the orality and musicality of capoeira angola. We conclude from this study that capoeira can be considered as a popularizer of the Portuguese language around the world, due to the fact that its songs are taught even if orally during experiences in our language. Also considering that these litanies cannot be translated into other languages, which would be totally modifying their meaning during the musicality of the roda.
