Este artigo apresenta os resultados de um estudo que teve como objetivo investigar o uso da adequação (PALLOTTI, 2009) junto a complexidade, acurácia e fluência (SKEHAN, 1998) na avaliação da produção oral de brasileiros, estudantes de língua inglesa. Para tanto, dez participantes preencheram um questionário de perfil e realizaram uma tarefa de conselho. Os dados foram analisados por meio de testes de correlação e os resultados mostraram que a adequação pode ser utilizada como uma dimensão/medida adicional junto às dimensões/medidas tradicionais (complexidade, acurácia e fluência).
